GP Tank Buffers

Had a tank strap snap on my S3. On closer inspection I can see that the lip of the tank has been chattering against the frame and cut a bit of a groove. Not sure it was a result of the strap breaking, as it was still held firm and the groove is even. Think it must have been doing it for a while. Just a thought. Would a set of GP tank buffers move it away from the frame and give it more clearance?
