Hi all,can anybody reccomend a GOOD quality Lambretta fork spring compressor tool?,i have three (all from different suppliers),and they are CRAP  .
On all three the 'fork' part in the centre (the part that sits around the fixed ball on the end of the rod) bends all to easily, and thetwo sides splay out when under pressure .
Back in the day,i did have a genuine Lambretta workshop item that did the job without issue, but unfortunately,i lent it out and never got it back   (a lesson learned),so is anybody out there re-manufacturing this tool with some degree of quality?

They all seem to be made out of monkey metal don't they.

Try using a ratchet strap instead, less chance of scratching your paint and does the trick.

Got to ask how you get the strap to hold on the spring rod?

To help stop scratches someone posted a pic of plastic milk contaners cut and wrapped around the fork boot

Heat up the "jelly" tool until the business end is cherry red then dunk it in cold water - that should stiffen it up.

Also you don't need to be gorilla to compress the spring - just take it steady.
