End plate studs
My mate has a s3 li125 which he asked me to look at as it didn't sound right, so I opened it up and all looked ok. Started taking to apart and when I got to the gearbox end plate I couldn't believe he'd not had an "off", the thing nearly came off in my hand. The studs were all loose and couldn't be tightend up.
Is there a fix other than expensive welding and re-tapping or will stepped studs work bearing in mind the stresses in this area?

I fitted stepped studs on one of my scooters.
