Thought I'd float this for a few suggestions.......what's best way of resolving a fair few drips coming out the case. IS IT..........2 normal gaskets or maybe one gasket with some form of liquid hermetite sealant either side (or just one side) of the gasket going on OR is there another better way ?

New gasket? Are they nuts tightening up properly...?

You can get cork gaskets though I can't remember where from right now. They compress and can take up any unevenness in the gasket facings.

Not my bike, but the fella does need to helicoil a couple of studs as well. It just got me thinking what others might have done with a leak etc.......I do have a leak on my LI and was going to attend to that this summer. Cheers for thoughts so far...........think he has the thicker gasket on already.....the cork one would be good though if available from somewhere ?

is it gear oil or spit back from the carb?

Clean up both surfaces with a razor blade and then flat off with some paper. Tighten evenly and tap it with a mallet as you go around all the nuts. Should only ever need a normal gasket.

I grease up the chaincase side gasket before use, makes it more flexible and better at filling any discrepancies.
Also occasionally use 2 gaskets on difficult cases.
