Hydraulic operated disc brake problem!

I have decided to use an old school hydraulic disc set up on my series 1with a 'hidden' master cylinder,it has been used before but using the motorcycle handlebar mounted master cylinder.
The problem im experiencing is that i cant seem to get the master to push out the slave piston. There is fluid getting through, and ive tried using a syringe to bleed from the slave end,and the conventional way, with a tube in a jar of fluid, any thoughts????

How tight is the piston in the slave unit can you move it in and out by hand ?

I'd strip it and check the seal and groove then pop the piston in without the seal to check it's free. The seal may have swelled

The thing is,there is no resistance at all at the lever, there is fluid getting through, but no pressure!
Everything is tight,so no leaks,so is there a way of testing the master?

I've only done one on a Smallframe but I seem to remember it bled easy enough, I think I worked the piston lever by hand with the banjo bolt just undone a tad to pump the fluid out then tightened. The braided hose is a pain to bleed as once air is trapped it's hard to shift without pressure to force it out.
