I have been working on building a ser.3 slimstyle, but you know..i've had three in the past and i'm trying to get each piece for this thing as i'm building it up from a frame i got for cheap a few years ago. I still have my stock ser. 2 and my recently restored ser. 1. So heres what i have in mind. I have access to a polaris 440 snowmobile engine. A good friend of mine who passed away two years ago had this engine and idea and i thought it was pretty crazy but now i'm a welder by trade and think this actually wouldn't be that difficult. But what i need to know is how to go about building a subframe or cradle for the engine to sit in. I guess what i need to know is how to build it so i can cut the main tube out from under the seat arch and then have support for the rear. I have a couple ideas as to what to do for a rear wheel and swing arm as well as suspension. I'm not sure how i can make this connect to the engine yet, I mean a snowmobile engine is very similar to a newer vespa engine with the variator setup and the only problem with that is that it is huge but maybe i can put a small one on instead. But first things first i need to try and set up a place for the engine to bolt in.
Has anyone who has built an auto conversion or motorcycle (ypvs) engined scooter have any helpful info they would care to pass on?
Thanks
Need some info please.
