I've used this oil for a couple of years and it seems to offer great value and protection, but twice now I have experienced very sticky rings, especially the lower ring.
Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Yes, I used it for a while and found this and in the crankcase. I have gone on to another make that appears to be better.

Yes.
I've just replaced my crank in my TS1 to a 60x110 & upon strip down of the top end I found that the bottom ring was gummed up in the groove.
I also gave my Rapido 225 motor a bit of a service this year which was also uses the same oil but the rings were fine in this.
After doing a bit of a search on the forum it appears sticky rings & the use of exol oil has cropped up before. I've now just gone back to using the Rock oil groundsman so will see how it goes but can't help notice how much thicker the groundsman oil is compared to the exol stuff

Just a though, how's your riding style? Do you ride like fannies or horse the f@@k out of it. If it's the former then do you really need an all singing and dancing oil?

My rings gummed up so bad that they stuck in and stopped the bike even running when I was about a thousand miles into a tour of the UK and Ireland. I was using Exol fully synthetic at 3% in a Rally 200 but I've no idea at all if that was the cause. Since then I've used Comp2 but I haven't done enough miles to know if its made a difference.
