My mates holed a piston, aside from finding out the cause etc etc......
Is it possible to check/clean the crank bottom end without completely removing it? (For debris from piston hole I mean) thanks steve

My mate holed his piston on a TS1 on the way to Cleethorpes a couple of years ago. We managed to get it to the campsite and fitted a new piston the day after (on site). The crank was left in and we cleaned it as best we could. Ran fine ever after, with no problems.
I holed mine on the way to this years C2C. Got it home and stripped crank out and did a thorough clean, IMO not worth the risk of not stripping........but not saying it can't be done.
