Hi,
after install of the GT200 kit (Eibar Jet 200) I go to fit my Casa Lambretta adjustable shock and notice something off. The frame tube is hitting the top of the reed block carb manifold. Its adjustable from 300-310mm. Even at the smallest setting. I then put my stock shock back on. Its 295mm from eye to eye. Using a feeler guage I can just get 0.2mm between frame and reed block.

Anyone else find this? I see there are offset mounting cones. How much additional clearance to they provide? Is there any particular brand that provides more clearance than others? Also, can someone please post a picture of them on a scooter so I can see how they are fitted?

No clearance issues on mine, TV200 with Hagon rear shock

All good on mine bgm shock and series 1 .

295 spring + off set cones on mine

Just out again looking at it, if I point the reedblock out the opposite way it looks like it would give another few mils clearance. Anyone off hand know the difference?

What do you mean point it out the opposite way, surely the reed block can only be fitted in one way?

Hi Dave, The reed block you have is designed to exit on the L/H side of the scooter. The reed block design is symmetrical but the use of the inlet manifolds in asymmetric as the C/L of the cylinder is slightly to the right of the frame tube (this is why all other reed valve kits have the carb on the right as there is less space restriction).

Frame clearance on the 30mm L/H manifold is very tight and some frame tolerances give exceptionally close fits. Shock length is by far the biggest factor but there are other alternatives such as eccentric cones.

There are 4 different types of GT manifold and all are interchangeable between both small and big block kits. If you do not have the encumbrance of a battery tray you could simply use the short 30mm manifold (this is designed to exit on the right).

Most people use 25 and 30mm manifolds that exit on the L/H side of the scooter.
