Wire is wire there no such thing as a 6 or a 12v loom.
You probably need to check your existing loom for continuity / resistance , 50 year old copper wire can corrode inside the sheathing. Check the resistance on each wire with a multimeter. It should be 0 or close to. Any more and it's suspect.
Also check your earths.
How is the magnetism of your flywheel / what type is it?

Ok if stator and flywheel are new then look to the loom and earths for high resistance values.

It always amazes me that with the myriad of electrical issues people face the last thing they will replace is the loom and yet it's the cheapest item in the link. BGM loom is less than £20.
