PX200 jumping into gear

Mates PX has started jumping into first from neutral. He's had the gears out, new cables, new selector box, new bearing. Anything obvious that can cause this?

was the cruciform ok & nipped up tight onto push rod?

I had it once with a mates P2, turned out to be a bent layshaft from a previous gear breakage.
Tom Russell also had it on a T5.
New shaft fixed both.

Seems like a change of layshaft has solved it, cheers for the advice
