I looking to build a decent crank for a TS1 as cheaply as possible but without compromising on quality. As I'm going to knock the timings down by fitting a 2mm base gasket, and a 110 conrod, I was thinking of splitting either a SIL GP crank, or one of the GP MEC/EUR ones, and fitting a yam conrod.

Someone told me it's the RD125 conrod but there seem to be at least a couple of types. I'm looking to get one from Grampian in Liverpool but can anyone tell me which specific type I want?

got my [RD400 115mm] rod kit from yam-bits on ebay

i`ve got an rd350 (22/16 and 110 long) and rd 400 (22/16 115) long rodded cranks - both came from rd bits on ebay - not sure about rd125 (probably the same) but mine was definately rd350

all the cranks in my 3 ts1`s are indian webs with either yamaha or road/race rods (chiselspeed built the last one)

Grampian Motors stock loads of bits for RD's they specialised in them and supplied the trade for years... If you cant get what your after, then try them...

Its been a while since I bought one but I think the rd400 has a 115 rod and the RD250 and 350s have 110. The thing is that I think only the 250 one comes with a pin.
You'll be able to tell because one will seem a lot cheaper than the other.
Marks right about Grampian request their catolougue for all their stuff because they are great for jap pistons and also little ends. They can also rebuild cranks and the reboring service is good.

Hola, Jaime. Good to hear the mudguard's gone to a good home I know HB does these cranks. I wanted to get it done locally, and a little bit cheaper, and in the knowledge that it hasn't been hurled across a post room somewhere

Cheers for all the other posts, lads. From that post, MS, it seems it's not the RD125 conrod anyway. I didn't realise that Grampian did the splitting and balancing work themselves. I thought they were just wholesalers. I've heard from a few people that they are really good on price, so it seems a plan to get a SIL, or a MEC/EUR crank and take it straight to them.

i have the receipt from grampian for the rod kit i used,it sais 125ypvs rod kit(34x)
its a 110 rod
i had to machine the inside of the webs slightly as its slightly wider,plus it comes with 1mm shims,i used the brass 0.5 shims that were origionally with the lam crank
you can build it slightly wider than the std lam crank..i think its 0.5mm,but you have to use 2 mag housing gaskets
the total price at the time was £32.49 for the rod kit
