wiring conumdrum

hi,
ive been helping out a young gun with his first Lambretta.it`s a early Li series 3 but he purchased a ignition switch for it, i dremmeled out the cut out button hole to make it fit.i have now got 14 wires "to play" with rather than the 11 you get with a special or GP set up. seems to me iv`e got two things doing the same Job, can i simplify the wiring? i did think of only connecting the green(to loom green ) and pink(to earth ) from the ignition switch so he`s got ignition only from the key switch or is there a better way ?
this is the last part of the rebuild , he`s looking forward to riding it.
