is/has anyone considered doing a full programmable ignition for a lambretta i wonder ,as i have spent a good 8hrs today doing one for the dac 280 and was wondering about the feasibility of a bretta one.
you can change timing & powervalves setting/positions every 500 revs amazing bit of kit

I have one in test on my group4 I am building ; it's kokusan RM250 type but a Dyno is needed to tune it well....

this ignition is equipped with a two switching inputs. Function of this inputs is selectable. E.g BLOCKING for sidestand switch or ENGINE OFF switch, racing funcion e.g. CLUTCH MASTER, START LIMITER and RETARD. Ignition is equipped with a outputs for tachometer and GEAR SHIFT LIGHT. The ignition unit is sealed in a plastic box with bundles of input and output conductors with pins. Counterpart connectors are supplied.
Ignition is fully programmable by software included advance curve, options for CKPS polarity, KILL SWITCH, BLOCKING, revolution limiter ...

I know on the french forum scootentole Kty is working on an usb add on very cool&simple.

I like this sort of stuff... What revs can you start to move the Ignition timing from and are you thinkig of adapting the ignition to work on a standard type of Lambretta setup..... As I think you could be onto a winner... Being programmable its digital and links to a laptop Yes..??..... So then to be re-programmed theres no need to remove flywheel once the initial setup is done... Just digitally move things to suit... I like the Idea alot... 8-) 8-)

you can start to move everything at 500rpm and continue to 20,000rpm at 500rpm intervals .you can set the rev limiter at what you want
everything can be modded on the laptop and its a very easy setup to use once you get your head round it .
i was just wondering about the feasibility on a lambretta one and wether people would want to pay the money for it

this is the idea....and an eprom with " memory bank" for different curves in case.....no laptop needed...

I am following the french guy (Antoine) idea: little add-on with an usb to load curves and an eprom memory and switch for different curves, easy to adapt like the agusto unit on every CDI (vesp/lamb) and affordable price

Thats even easier "no lap top needed".... I know I would seriously look at a reliable programmable system with these features, as would many others.... I would use it on mine , Not to try to make it quicker, But more to make it "relibly" quick.... as this is what gets you there .... Get the price right and quality always sells...

Been running mappable/re programmable ignition since 1999 on my racer. Its really only the 'icing on the cake. ( ;) )..I dont even use it now but only a variatronic..Anyway it would be nice to see a system that was say a substitute cdi for the standard type stator with say a usb socket in it.

the cdi i was programminhg has 2 maps in it ,once you have set the maps to your liking then they are selected by using a small switch . only need laptop to set maps or change their programming . this french one sounds good and as we all know how tight scooterists are they will always take the cheaper route i will shelve my idea as an estimated price of £500 for a complete setup is too much , good luck with the other setup as well and keep us to date with progress

I know its not exactly a full programable setup but Martin @ Chisels can now offer his own version of the Augusto type unit.

It has all three Augusto maps plus many others to give the full range. At development stage I think there were 10 maps but will confirm. The maps are selected on the acual unit itself.

It retails at £85.00 and is ready to go so give em a ring.

I'll try get more details asap. :)

Yes I have something under development ; I'm designing the software code and the hardware. The system will be fully programmable from a headset display either monochrome or colour. The display will communicate on a two wire system "CAN network" to a main controller. This controller will have a number of features, PIN number pre-ignition start, data logging, maximum highs and readings from input sensors etc. All info can be viewed and graphed on PC or read on the display.
