Hi, Firstly a big thanks to Dan and Mick for a truly impressive turnaround time, I had the kit back in just over a week, great stuff.
I send my Indian Ali 225 block to have the ports and transfers all tidied up and to gain a little more in the way of useable performance. It's previously seen some fettling so there were already some restrictions on what could be achieved as the exhaust port was probably high enough already, so I spoke with Dan and Mick and told them I was after some more midrange grunt. Mick then gave me a ring to discuss what he thought he could do and give me his initial findings on what he saw. He was a great guy to speak to and was very interested in what I had to say as well and parting with some good advice and information. On return, I could instantly see that the bulk of the work was on the transfer ports to try and claw back some grunt as discussed so I was anxious to get it fitted and try it out.
Very happy with the result so far, it defiantly pulls a lot harder through the mid range and up into the power band. Once it hits around 5000 rpm it really pulls, a big improvement here. I still probably need to fiddle with the jetting before I give it a good run but first impressions are spot on. !! :D :D
Mick even rung me back to ask how thing are going and to make sure all was well.
If everybody gave this level of service, the world would be a better place.
Defiantly recommended this end.

What carb and exhaust have you fitted? Does the engine pull well in top gear? Does it run as well in top as it does in gears one to three?

I have an ally 225 which I need to have fettled so I'd be interested in some more details too.

Yes it goes a lot better then before, it has around 182° of exhaust and 160° inlet timing which was the main restriction for Mick and the transfer timing seemed to be low in comparison at about 118°, also they seemed very small in width compared to the others . Thus the need to try and get some mid range grunt back.
Its a Indian GP200 box with 18x47, OKO 28/30 carb and at the moment fitted with a Sterling pipe(Devtour on order). I'm not pretending it's a grunt monster with an exhaust port that high but it's a lot more flexible that it was, its a marked improvement for sure and once I get the Devtour fitted I'm hoping it will be better still.

Just got back an ally 186 barrell that mick has had his magic fingers on, its for a mate (i'm still having fun with the 150 cast iron barrell ;) ).

Once mate has fitted the kit and run it in i'll post the results up.

As chris said mick is a fantastic bloke who really knows his stuff, I'd urge anyone who has some tuning work needed to give him a call, it won't be time wasted.
