All,

Last night I stripped down a VHSH 30 to fit to a motor and a tiny little brass part (small solid cylinder about 3mm long) and tiny fitted spring fell out of it. Any ideas as to what it is and where it goes?

just guessing without seeing piccys Adam ,but perhaps the brass thingy could be either the snapped end off the throttle cable inner or perhaps the end of the mixture screw ?

Thanks for the response Sean. I've 2 slides and 2 throttle cable stops so it might be that I've one fitted and that this has fallen off the other.

This happened last thing last night so I've not had chance to revisit, until now. I'll have a look and come back to you.

Is it out of the front of the slide, they have a plug and spring to press against the needle to stop it rattling .

Top answer. Can I get a set and adapt it to my VHSB though?

EVERYTHING is 'adaptable' Andy, but why would you bother in this instance?? S

This is exactly what I wondered but looking at the 2 slides I've got, it doesn't necessarily seem that it is a slide/needle spring, however, I didn't get chance to look at my carbs last night. I did manage to take a photo of the part in question though...

It does look like that sort of thing but this (body) is only 5mm long at most, way too small for choke use.

Wot he said.

 The key is the spring. Throttle return is bigger and the springs on the adjustment needles are smaller. So that only leaves one out of four left.
