Hi , a mate of mine has snapped the key off in the barrel , how do you get the old one out to change it ?
I've taken the horn cover off and removed the ignition switch part , but I can't see how the rest comes out , we ve had a go at knocking it out with a big screw driver and hammer and ended up smashing the old lock and half the aluminium casing that it fits in , I'm baffled as there does not look like anything else can hold it
T5 ignition / steering lock removal
Drop the forks, from the horncover side, pull the steering lock cam out, peer in the hole and you will a small tab, push that up, and push the barrel out.
There is a small hole under the frame tube partm if you are lucky you can push the tab upwards through that, but after the 'attempt' you have made, I reckon it will be forks out.

Look under the welded on tube that the plastic switch screws into and there is a small pin hole. Poke a nail etc in it and it presses a tang in that allows the lock to be removed. No need to remove forks unless you've damaged things.
Thanks chaps , I'll have another look tomorrow
