T5 cylinder on PX casing

Hi everyone ,just after info , friends T5 engine damaged beyond repair on flywheel side oil seal seating,needs crankcase change (mho), are there any downsides to rebuilding into PX125 crankcases? thanks in advance

you can`t
the casings, crank, cylinder, flywheel bearing, flywheel and stator etc are different.
Are you sure its not salvageable - these casing are not easy to get hold of - will be worth investigating a repair
hunt for a 2nd hand one

Thanks Gaz,all the searches are going on for T5 crankcases , as for salvageable the seal retainer has been punched out,probably by the flywheel side bearing being hammered in, not seen the actual casing yet so cant comment on welding ,but expect machining reqd after repair.

I encounted one the same on a rebuild - the lad had bought a full T5 with motor out after the owner had attempted to fit new bearings and kept driving the flywheel side to get it flush (like px) not knowing they stand proud.
Martin at chiselspeed welded it back without any machining due to the way the break was - still going strong

My old casings were damaged.
Had them repaired and still going strong after 6 years.
