I have found a few here. S900 keeps coming up. Also Super Vijai so it is obviously a SIL GP either 150 or 200.

I even found a picture of a snake like "S" on the engine casing followed by 900 but I still can't discover exactly what they are.



I'm getting analysis paralysis. Is there an Indian Lambretta expert in the house?
I've looked at various engine number pages like Cambridge and others but no mention of S900.

Indian engine numbers often have a prefix ’S’

The S is the SIL logo

I have come across lots of Vijay Super engine Nos with the prefix S400 so maybe that's what it was.

So it doesn't indicate whether it is 150 or 200?

Not a problem I will go and have a look at a few and see what I can deduce.

It seems real Italian models are very expensive here so for a rebuild hack maybe a more common Indian DL/GP is a better bet for me anyway. Resprays are cheap ish at 160-260 quid.

Not seen a pattern to the prefixes.
