hi, when i start my LI 175 and put it into first it jerks forward then its ok, last week i was stopping and pulled clutch in, when i stopped with lever still pulled in it started moveing forward, so much i put front brake on and it stalled before i could get it in neutral. when engines not running i can pull clutch lever in put it in first or second and it won,t free wheel with lever still pulled in unless i rock the bike forward & backwards and then it goes ok !! so far i have wound the adjuster in and then out and it does same, next job is take caseing off to investigate further, what should i be looking for when i,m in there ? its like the clutch is,nt releasing (sticking)

Yes you've got clutch drag. If you have no adjustment in the cable, and you should be able to fully disengage the clutch even with 1 - 2 mm of fee play in the lever, it might be worth moving the lever on the casing round one spline, anti clockwise, towards the rear to get more throw on the lever. Otherwise if you're taking the casing off check -

All plates slide freely in the basket / spider, no catching or tightness - file if found.
The corks combined fit in the jaws of a 14mm spanner, if not bin them or get thinner steels.
Check all plates and steels at perfectly flat.
Check the springs are all correctly seated in the pressure plate and that it compresses all the way in.
With the clutch plates all in and the circlip on, with the pressure plate compressed ensure there's at least 1mm of free movement in the plates.

tried adjusting it , turned the adjuster right out so cables like a piano string (still same) wound the adjuster back in till it stops and cable is slack (still same) plenty oil in (up to the level plug) going into the caseing in a bit and have a butchers.

A friend of mine thought he had plenty of pull on the clutch arm, turns out he was just pulling the free length on the arm,try removing the spring on the clutch arm that way you'll tell how much movement there is in the arm before your clutch starts to become compressed.

think its sorted, must have been a warped steel !!! put three new steels in and at the moment no drag :) the steels i put in are a tad thinner, been on a test run and all seems well, the problem i have now is the bloody idle screw on the jettex keeps unwinding on its own  thats a new one on me :D
