Anyone know if it's possible to get 'riding other bikes' on a policy when the main bike is a GP200?

Do you mean more than one bike owned by you on one policy? If yes, then Peter James, Footman James and Carole Nash all do multi bike policies.

if you mean riding someone else bikes 3rd party only then FJ certainly do that as part of the LCGB membership scheme -but it's Lambretta only and minimum age of bike 25 years.

Just got a renewal letter from C.N. it says ....

Carole Nash Rider Cover ... Congratulations you have been upgraded to receive Rider Cover on us! This gives you the flexibility to ride your mate's bike with total piece of mind - as we've got it covered!*

New Rider Cover - Free accidental damage cover when riding other bikes*

*Terms and conditions apply, please see the attached policy summaries.

Which says "Third party cover whilst driving other motorcycles not owned by the policyholder. This must clearly be stated on your certificate of Motor Insurance.

Those little * always worry me as there's always some small print somewhere they'll use to throw out your claim given a chance.

Bennett's advertise 'ride other bikes cover' but when I rang them your main bike must be a minimum of 350cc, will try Carole Nash but am guessing they'll be similar **

Maybe a good excuse to buy a VFR400 lol

good excuse to kick Bennets into touch more like.

I remember when the AA started to discriminate too and wouldn't cover any bike under 250cc for european breakdown.

Oh come on -how many bikes under 250 go to the continent? it's hardly a massive risk to cover but they lost my business, permanently.

If any insurer I was with started mucking about like that I'd take my business elsewhere and make damn sure everyone who knew me on any forum/FB etc did the same if I could.

Only when people vote with their feet and wallets will we be listened to.

FJ cover ANY CC lambretta on their classic policy and will then cover you for ANY Lambretta over 25 years old 3rd party only.

If he pranged it will either reinforce your friendship or ruin it. ;)
Did you have to do that?
