Just fitted a Mikuni TMX 35 on my Avanti. When I've fitted the petrol tank (12L bolt on type with cut-out) the top of the carb misses the cut-out and catches the tank. The carb' also stops the petrol lever from connecting to the tap arm (tried various positions). To get it running the carb' is now at an angle to miss the tank. Runs ok but this will lower the volume of the bowl which doesn't look the biggest in the world.

It appears that the slim-style of the Mikuni is keeping the carb' too close to the manifold (AF type). A longer manifold or rubber would probably solve the problem but are these available ?

Anyone else had this problem and any ideas to make it fit.

"Radiator" type hose is an option as you can cut it to any length. I do rcall seeing Foxy's Rapido with TM32 carb and the petrol lever was on the outside of the carb.

I got hold of some small universal joints so that fit between the petrol lever and the petrol tap instead of the standard slotted brass one. They make turning the lever more solid when using a bigger angle, ie pushing the lever inwards. Only issue is that they're 6mm. The lever is 6mm but the tap is 7mm so had to drill one side out and drill very small holes in lever and tap as they're held in place with small grub screws, a much better system than the split pins but not as roadside friendly. Only works if you already have a lever that has some spare length [ie it sticks out from the frame in normal use.

MB sell some extending joints http://www.lambrettaspares.com/spares/p ... 0666k.html Shows a complete lever and extended adjuster in stainless, on Facebook Mr B says you can buy the adjuster on it's own but need to phone the shop.
