kickstart
ok so I fit the kickstart to engine, in the higher position you can here it rubbing on the gearbox, in the lower position way too low, am I missing something, I even took the rubber out of engine so it sat as high as it could and it was fine until I stated riding it.
It may be to do with the ramp adjustment in the sidecase. But I have heard tales of kickstarts with wrongly machined splines causing this.
the thing is ive had a kickstart on it before with no problems, all I done was rebuild the engine but not changed the chain case cover at all and I think ikts the same kickstart but not certain of that, thought they were all the same.

I tend to fit the lever so its at the stop then adjust the ramp so the plunger peg is on the cusp of dropping as soon as you start to go down with the lever. You may find you have to go a spline either way to get it as high up to get the full stroke.Check that your kickstart shaft does not have too much play into the case or it will rub the gears. You may need a thicker washer on the outside.
ah yeah thanks monty, I think I will try a washer first.
