With only hours left til Sanford my clutch is slipping. Finished bike last night. Took it out and in fourth gear overtaking is a nightmare..all revs and no go. Im running an iron 225 with new five plate clutch. Please tell me I only need to adjust it.

Hi a.j.check cable isn't too tight,is bronze bush fitted correctly?is kickstart shaft rubbing on clutch top plate inside?

Dean

ps take cable off clutch lever on engine then if you can find an open road with no traffic I'd bump start it then see if it still Slips with cable disconnected.

Cheers. I'm not into the dark art of fiddling about. I can do the brutal stuff fine. I've only got an hour dinner break so I need it sorted. Will try anyway.

I asked about the cassette clutch as when I first fitted mine, I couldn't get the clutch to disenagage. Eventually found that the threaded part of the cluster was too tall and fouled on the clutch centre when trying to compress the clutch. Ended up having to fit a different gearbox. Will have to get the extra long cluster machined or ground down a few mill.
