Watch it doesn't affect flow if you must use one

I used the square disposable one from MB last year, mainly because I didn't know what was in the tank. After 1400 miles I reckon anything nasty would have come through by now. I took it off during winter tinkering and the main difference I noticed was it starts easier! Even with the filter on I still stripped and cleaned the carb jets every month or so. I still found fine particle residue in the float bowl...
Use one from beedspeed, about £4 from memory. It does it's job in terms of filtering but often wondered whether it was affecting fuel flow and ease of kicking over the bike. Has anyone had the same experiences and taken the filter out with better results as Architecten says?
AS i said a few posts back. I used the type shown, It made zero difference to the starting or running of the scooter (but it was set-up properly) The filter did however collect some fine debris that was coming from the tank. Which was the reason for fitting it.
