Setting up a Malossi T5 172 with a standard 24 carb and Revolver pipe and the standard idle jet needs the airscrew well out to idle correctly, anyone recommend a different jet size?

Sounds like the idle jet is to large, thats why the air screw is out so far, but you say its the original idle jet.

Pretty sure airscrew out richens the mixture. The idle seems fine even with the screw 4-6 turns out but have a rich spot at 1/4 throttle with a BE3 which clears with a BE4 but the plug is dark grey with the 4 at 1/2 throttle plug chops.
