Now that I have spent a fortune on my engine and finally got it running spot on, dyno'd and have ironed out all the running in problems (thanks to this forum!) I intend to keep it well maintained and serviced. What do you guys do on a regular basis to keep your tuned engines in good running order?

Many thanks in advance

Scott

Thrash-it

Main one I thinks is clean carb every 1000miles or so
Gearbox Oil changes when needed.
& then thrash it again ;-) lol

It's fair to assume that a tuned scoot will see some harder riding so frequent checks on the tightness of vital nuts and bolts such as wheel and hob nuts, cowling screws. Check spark plug. If you do any sustained high speed runs on dial carriageways then pay extra attention to tyre pressures. I'm sue there will be more suggestions 8-)

Stuff like rings will wear out much quicker.
Carb settings, timing and plugs will be more critical.
Mistakes could be fatal.

Clutch and chain take a hammering as do sprockets , things like a ring change will r3quire not just rings but gaskets as well I usedto check mine every 3000 miles on a ts1 the side case would come of as well adjust chain check for rocking on rear sprocket endplate nuts etc maybe buy a few side case gaskets from te same source as they can vary in thickness and quality , also think of ways to make things easier to remove to make it seem less like a chore I aslo change all my inner cables every few years depending on how many miles ive done it might seem a waste of money but ive never had a cable snap in the last 12 yrs or so

A bit extreme, don't you think?
