Current opinions and thoughts on a Crank for GT186?

Hi all, before the problems with Mec Eur some years ago I would happily have bought one of the GP race cranks and be more than happy with it for this engine but I've heard they dont make them anymore and that some remade ones supposedly the same were shite?
Now I have no interest in a crank that's 3,4 or 5 hundred quid but I also don't want a standard sil one either.
So, whats a decent crank recommendation these days? Not had to buy one in over 5 years.

Have had an AF race crank with welded pin in mine for the past 6 years, have got a set of SIL webs with a yam 110 rod here that I'll probably replace it with.

MEC EUR RACE CRANK. Nothing wrong with them mate. I know 2 GT186 kits run on them, no issues whatsoever for thousands of miles. I run one on my 225, it's two years old now no bother.

I second that choice. I have one in my 225 as well.

Phew, that refreshing to know, all those stories of snapped conrods must be a figment of someones vivid imagination.

The thing is, for under 200 quid what other options are there? Im currently crank shopping, cant seem to find anything but mec... Are tameni the same? And there was a thread about them too.... So apart from mec and variants, or using sil webs with jap rod (no good if you want bigger stroke) what actually are the other options? And do the failures affect all stroke and rod dimensions across the mec range? The term minefield springs to mind...

Is ricambio not mec too? My crank came in a ricqmbio box, same webs but bronze rod...
