Does anyone have a diagram of the internal anatomy of a standard tank? I'm fitting a fuel float like this and don't want to foul on a baffle or something.

There's no baffles in standard tanks - the only thing that you could foul would be the fuel filter/reserve tube that sticks up from the petrol tap.

I drilled a hole for the sender unit and it turns out that there are two baffles in a tank that would appear to be standard. Luckily they are to either side of the filler and the new sender unit. So for future reference there most certainly are baffles in a standard tank.

there are most definately surge baffles in a standard tank.
However, the late production GP's may have done away with these for cost purposes.
