For years I've put off using medical type gloves for working on my scoots but I ended up with a hand infection so I've converted to gloves. I got a cheap box of 3mm ones but they are too thin and tear but they aren't too bad but I'll get slightly thicker ones next time. I've got used to wearing them very quickly and wouldn't go back to hands only. No more swarfega and mucky nails :D

these are what I use since I had a nasty infection from a split pin puncture in my finger, they come in various sizes, are comfortable and last well.

Latex gloves are o/k, but some people come out in a rash caused by the powder in them. I use Nitrile gloves. They're available at any local motor factors.
