Anyone done it results hints tips and pics

It shouldn't be too difficult if you're ok with sheet metal. I can send you a card template of the RS caliper mounting plate. If you use a male and female rose joint bar. In fact I've actually got a pair that you can have Steve. Then just a case of working out where you want to weld a lug on your forks to line up with the rose joints. It may be possible to add a piece onto your existing caliper mounting plate and cut off the part that connects to the links.

You'll also need a bush or bearing for the calliper bracket to rotate round

Thats the bit im not to sure about ive managed to get 2 more caliper mountin plates cheap so thought id try a few options , martin I sent those links

My carrier bracket was made to take a PX type calliper, CS Engineering in Norwich knocked it up and the bronze bush is a 2 part affair, one part is a top hat section which fits the hole in the bracket and the other is a spacer. Not sure what the RS ones have.

Thats the idea ive been having will wait untill ive viewed a scootrs on and go from there

Going in the same direction, I have a SPAQ carrier I plan to adapt to take a PX caliper.

I'm sure I've heard of people just removing the pin or stud to allow the carrier to rotate on the axle without doing anything further.

The best one I have seen was on Prides (not seen him post for ages) not sure if you can find it I cant

I dont think thats any good as the axle pull tightly on the carrier I dont thinkit will be smooth enough

I think if you use a disk type axle the nut can tighten against the shoulder on the axle with the link in between, the carrier is then inboard of that then a top hat / spacer then the wheel. The caliper carrier would be free to move round the axle but be constrained by the anti-dive fixing to the fork leg. I can't see that it would rotate by more than a few degrees in normal operation, this will be limited by the maximum travel of the suspension.

I'll build it and see how it goes.
