Whilst some will scream don't touch it, and I welcome their opinion, what else can I and should I be doing. I'm not looking to paint anything and matt black is not an option.... :roll:

AC50 will nip it in the bud. You might find acetone and a bit of elbow grease will remove the black paint if you feel so inclined.

I should experiment on a little bit first and wear Marigolds because the evaporating alcohol will make your fingers very cold.
