hi everybody
62,8 on my s3 tv175, and seem to have run out of quality piston options, how much further can i take this barrel and can anyone recomend quality pistons beyond 62,8 whilst still using a 116mm rod, without going into mb prices. last year i had to use a diamond piston whose rings seem to be made of cheese and though it got me around the alps one ring is partially jammed, despite me not seizing it, so i dont expect many more miles from it

Dave

I also run a TV175 S3 and I'm looking at this:-

http://beedspeed.com/lambretta-piston-s ... -4984.html

would use a 64mm one on a spare genuine 175 cylinder I've got.

I bored another 175 cylinder out a couple of years back to the same diameter and put it on a Special I had at the time.- ran very well with no hint of nip ups etc.

I built a TV 190 last year for a friend using a wiseco piston as we were out of oversizes. It's become a club favorite as it's got gobs of torque and is butter smooth thanks to the TV crank. I did need to use a 2mm packing plate on the bottom but the TV jug and rod make this a pretty straight forward upgrade. No top & tail needed.

I understand they are a straight fit with the longer TV rod.

I may get one in the New Year just to have a spare top end for the TV at 64mm.

as an aside and I know its been raised before, I believe this is where the original "TV200's" came from.

Possibly dealer specials using TV175's bored to 66mm prior to Innocenti being "persuaded" to build the real deal?

Who knows?

Ive used a khc fleabay ts185 25quid piston..i went straight to 65mm.you do need a 2mm packer with a 116 rod and a reprofiled head.pulls the tv box lovly.i combined mine with a reamed out 20mm std carb to 21.5 but kept the innocenti exhaust.

Has anyone actually seen one of these factory small block conversions? I've been hearing about these for 20 years now but have yet to see one that could be actually proven to be from Innocenti or a dealer from the 60t's
