chain alignment

how`s everyone checking their chain alignment , tried using the vernier as a depth gauge but get a different result every time !
neither MB or SR have brackets in stock ,any other stockists or accurate methods in use

Vernier and flatedge I take 10 readings and average an get it to 0.10 mm infacti was lapping my rear sprocket today
