I am getting conflicting info for standard Li150 points. I am advised 21-19-17 degrees. Any advice welcomed. Thanks.

Time it at 19 BTDC and only ever use the very best petrol you can buy.

the "burn" is not instantaneous- it tales time to completely combust. By timing "early" at say 19 BTDC, it allows the piston to travel to the very top of its stroke before all the mixture has burnt and produced the max amount of power. If its timed too "early", at say 21 BTDC, the piston on its upwrads stroke is fighting against the "explosion" which means lost power and more heat. If its too late, then the piston is already on its way down, which again means less power, but also it runs slightly cooler.
Its a balance really.
Back in the day, the fuel was "better" than the crap about today, which meant that timing was "better " at 21 BTDC.
