I have been offered a vhb carb, I know they are old but are they worth spending the time getting them to work on my standard gp150, big bore exhaust, I plan to go to 175 barrel. As I have jetex at moment and every recommendation is to ditch them.

As far as I can tell, Jetex carbs come in two types: those that work, and those that don't.

If your Jetex is working, I'd stick with that rather than go for an older 24mm carb. If you feel the need to enlarge your carb, try a modern PHBL 25mm. Both might need a new manifold, but you are more likely to find a manifold for the PHBL than the old VHB (?)
