Internal rear hub oil seal fittment

I am building a new 220 polini engine to replace my ageing 210 malossi, Every thing is brand new and I have built it all up but I am having a problem remembering what way the internal rear hub oil seal fits in. Is it with the spring facing towards the hub or towards the gearbox. My old engine has the external oil seal, don’t know if if it goes the same way.

Spring inwards facing the gearbox.
