i have just stripped down my 3rd tv175 engine to compile a parts list and the crankshaft mag side bearing and setup is different from the other 2 series 2s i have, its a longer tapper with a brass roller bearing and only one seal, looks like the fuel mix also lubes the bearing as it has a part machined out the back of the mag housing, any one add any light on the crank type, also has a brass small end bearing ,thanks

Early Series 2s had the same petroil lubricated mag-side bearing as Series 1s, the crank uses a solid bronze small end bush, and is the same dimensionaly as the later type, the lack of a shoulder for the inner oil seal makes it look longer on the taper side. Unless you absolutely want to keep the motor as it left the factory it is best to upgrade your crank to the later spec, needle roller small end is more reliable and can use 4% oil mixture instead of 6%. You will also need to change the mag-housing as the earlier type has no circlip groove to retain the inner seal.
