I seem to recall that, back in the day, when the Lambretta was covered from 6v to 12v, you kept the 6v horn and the note was somewhat better than it was before.

I want to put 12v DC into a 6v DC vespa horn. Will it survive the experience?

When we did the Lambretta 12volt conversions in the early 70's we used the original horn of course I suppose that was a DC horn then.

Running a 12v DC conversion (wassel) into an OEM 6v horn on my most recent build. Hands down it's the LOUDEST horn (and brightest lights!) I've ever had on an obsolete Italian shopping bike.
