Is there something that goes between the outer handle and the side panel itself to protect the paintwork? Like a cupped washer or summat?

There isn't any thing on mine. No washer. Just the handles. But I don't think it has had any.
They have been off at some point however as some one had resprayed the panels. Not sure this helps.

I am repainting at the moment, by hand.....bizzare but true.
Is there a diagram with part names not just the numbers. I am not sure which bits need rubber washers or grommets etc.

Thanks for the link John (and the photo of front muddy ;) ). Just thought there may have been some sort of protective washer twixt panel and handle to stop paintwork getting scratched.

If the shafts' the same size as a Ser 3 , Scooter Restorations sell a steel wavy washer for early Ser3 's or a nylon one for late models.

No worries Mark. You'll be a SII expert by the time you've finished. 8-)
