Series 2 side panels

Is there something that goes between the outer handle and the side panel itself to protect the paintwork? Like a cupped washer or summat?

There isn't any thing on mine. No washer. Just the handles. But I don't think it has had any.
They have been off at some point however as some one had resprayed the panels. Not sure this helps.
I am repainting at the moment, by hand.....bizzare but true.
Is there a diagram with part names not just the numbers. I am not sure which bits need rubber washers or grommets etc.

Thanks for the link John (and the photo of front muddy
). Just thought there may have been some sort of protective washer twixt panel and handle to stop paintwork getting scratched.
