wont start on the kickstart
a friend of mine has recently bought a gp.totally rebuilt all quallity parts used,12v ignition,set up with strobe.new 22mm jettex carb. It will not start off the kick start, but starts with the smallest of bump starts,runs perfect once started. is the starter jet the first thing to check ?

As you're probably trying to bumb start it with throttle fully open I'd try to kickstart it same way. If you can't get it started that way I'd suspect the kickstart mechanism. If the kickstart is working you should be able to make the back wheel turn with kickstart when the first gear is on if you can kick the bike with back wheel off the ground.
If the kickstart works turn your attention to carb.
