Hi
I have rebuild a TV 175 engine. All components are changed and a GP TV 116 rod fitted.
  • The gearing is standard Series 3 TV 175.
I kept the original Cylinder and head and rebored and honed it t o2nd Oversize. Fitted a Mahle 62,4 2 ring piston (Diamond rings).
This because the Borgo 62,2 piston heat siezed.
The carb is a Jetex 22mm that breathes through a Ram Air foam filter connecter through a GP rubber hose.
The exhaust is a MBGM version 2.
The Jetex is rejettet to be adequate for this set up.
    Using a BR7ES spark.
Yesterday on a running in ride, in fourth gear around 70 km/h it soft siezed again. I was able to roll to the side of the road and kickstarted it. Taking it slowly, I was able to bring it home without problems. Kept the speed at max 50km/h in third gear.
I'm going to do a leak down test. If all is OK then I'm gonna start suspecting the Cylinder. It is old, worn and have 2 broken fins.

Now to my question:
Is there a cheap replacement kit for the 116 conrod that Is around the same performance or a little up that's preferable to use?
Do you all have any recommendations?

I would check jetting. What jets are you running? And a BR7ES plug is a hot plug. Try an 8 or 9.

If you think it's the barrel, you can take it to a shop and have them check the clearance. Could be too tight.

You could also have the cylinder bored out to 64mm and use a suzuki piston with a packing plate, provided that it's set up correctly.
