It that's gone the one in the end plate might also need examination, MB one is OK as is SIL but get it from a reliable source like Restos not eBay.

I had this problem and layshaft and hub needed changing - this was obvious on inspection. Still had play and it turned out it was the end plate bush - which I only discovered by changing out the endplate. Have fun.

stripped it all down ......alot of play on bearing in end plate so will replace that too...hub bearing is a riv one doesnt seem to bad but not worth not changing at this stage
washer on needle roller bearing was missing ..as was o ring on layshaft!
cush drive on crank has been wearing its way thro chaincase side!! [already been welded before] so that will need sorting
so all sorts happening

Was Bolt in the Cush drive slack or was the set up not seated properly ?

cush drive is fitted so that its at its highest point

not sat inside [you know what i mean] consequently its machining two nice circular grooves thro the previously patch on the case
kickstart circlip was missing so i think everything has been rubbing/wearing away......no wonder the oil was silver when i drained it!
does anyone know what dia the needle bearing end of the layshaft should be?
looks like as i fixed a fuel tapleak and just happened to check rear wheel for play that this has all come to life!!
a shame as my mate paid nigh on 4k for this bike only 3 months ago and hasnt done 200miles on it!!
at least i can re-build it for him properly and he hasnt had accident on it

RIV were an original supplier, general though is to leave genuine Italian bearing in there if it's not fecked. Scootopia have had then remade but every time I look they're out of stock. £40 though.

top chain slipper [looks like a mb copy] has worn away that much its took the top off the recessed bolt and started biting in the chain.....clutch inner basket is shot
not sure on layshaft yet as new needle bearing and trying in plate seems to have play ...does anyone know what dia it should be? [the layshaft]
cost me £100 so far in parts alone ...all good fun
