Just rebuilt an engine into a mid 80ts indian case.
fitted it into the bike and connected the cables up. it runs fine but the clutch cable has so much slack I can un hook it from the arm with out tools.
the bite point is midway on the lever and its the lightest clutch I've ever had. done 80 miles no slip what so ever and no drag.

technically I don't have a problem but its worrying me.

if it works as you say then no- but something obviously isn't "correct"

Does the clutch set up have the "LI" style thimble inside or the GP type set up?

Is the thimble in place? Is the GP set up the right way round?

Is the clutch lever on top of the engine an actual clutch lever or a front brake lever off a drum brake? (I THINK they have the same spline section but the brake lever is shorter- which may allow the cable to be released by hand, BUT a shorter lever would mean more effort is required to operate the clutch (school-boy physics regarding fulcrums etc!)

Odd one- don't know is the answer.

It's all stripped out at the moment, due to a Leak thru the gear selector shaft.

It's a gp type. I didnt know the brass plunger would work either way round.
I'll give it a look when I reassemble.
