Not strictly Vespa but I've just bought an Indian 5 port barrel and note that there is no exhaust stub. Instead it had 2 threaded holes similar to a T5 but the port is smaller and the stud centres are closer. I don't think this is normal, anyone any experience of this? is there a suitable exhaust available or will I have to make up a flange and stub?

Before the inevitable 'what did you expect buying from India' (be gentle Muttley McLadd), it has to be said that quality wise it is VERY well finished, the ports are all tidy unlike a lot of SR style barrels I've seen and at £25 including head and piston I thought it worth a punt 8-)

Cheers

Perfect FF, any idea why there are 2 types of these barrels available?

yep , Bajaj. good luck finding an exhaust. KBR had some, but they were very expensive for what is just a shitbox pipe.

are you putting this on a PX motor? I think the Bajaj uses a different length conrod , as to use a px kit on a Bajaj, you have to put a packer plate under the barrel. maybe why it was only £25?

just saw the SIP link, didn't know you could get an LML barrel like that. if it fits you've got a canny bargain there.

There are loads on ebay at varying prices, I didn't notice the exhaust mount method at the time of purchase but now see that most have the stub as per normal. Byron's got it at the moment along with the rest of the engine so it would be a good idea to check the barrel height before going too much further.
