Running in new build - advice please

I got my back from Barry Turner this afternoon after a full rebuild, new seals, bearings, crank, gearbox, clutch, the lot and it sounds sweet! Obviously I now have to run it in before I can see what it will do. Barry has put a new GP200 gearbox in for me to match my Mugello 198 top end - what I want to know is, how many miles should I be doing to get it run in, the Mugello was already run in in before the rebuild so I assume it's just a case of the bearings etc needing to settle in. How many miles and how much throttle can I give her? Thanks in advance :D

Running in on a new barrel might be as much as 500 - 1000 miles but if the barrel was already run in then it's more of a shake down, take it easy on the first 100 miles the do a check on all the main nuts - cylinder head, exhaust, manifold, wheels, shock etc. - That's if it hasn't shaken any loose before that...

Thanks mate. How many miles do new bearings and new crank need to 'bed in' do you think?

Some wouldn't bother running that sort of thing in at all, if you're being cautious build up the thrashing in stages over the first couple of hundred.
