Hi everyone
My son has a 14 plate px 125 , he cant keep up with us so wants to kit his he wants to put a Malossi kit on, 24/24 carb and a different exhaust. But he's been told that the cdi unit on new/newer px are restricted so it wont make any difference !! So could we fit an older cdi unit probably have to rewire or any cdi unit out their which will fit straight on ? Cheers Danny

never heard of a restricted CDI... Is your son sure of it?

If your son can afford a malossi top end he could also buy himself a standard ducati CDI.

the new cdi is restricted to 7000rpm and has a waterproof connector

you can spend £80 on the unrestricted zeus cdi from readspeed or buy a ducati cdi and cut and shut a few wires to fit

The stator is completely different so unsure you could use a Ducati type CDI.

Re the top end, I understand that the LML 150 5 port top ends available on ebay (pick the seller carefully) will give very near PX 200 performance with carb and exhaust changes. Byron on here is fitting one to an LML 125 engine for my son at the moment......give me a few weeks and we should have some feedback 8-)

Most (if not all) of the 150 kits on Ebay are not LML, but are actually VE, and are generally considered junk over on the the LML forum (http://lmlocgb.co.uk/phpBB3/).

The only place you can be sure of getting a genuine LML kit is Tasso (http://www.lmlparts.co.uk/).
