Cleaning flywheel and Stator plate

ive been running without a flywheel dust cover and an open mouth carb (with panels and running boards) for a while now, there's lots of muck all over the flywheel and i suspect a fair bit on the stator, i`ll use jizer to clean the flywheel, but what should i use on the stator ? something that hopefully doesn`t leave a residue. what do you recommend ?

For the electrics best stuff is Isopropyl Alcohol, spray on blow off with airline. Leaves no residue

Loctite cleaner should do, may be the same stuff as belly recomended. Brake cleaner seems to leave a residue.

I'm not sure I'd take a chance with brake cleaner on the coils, no telling what resistance the insulating lacquer will have to harsh solvents. I'd try WD 40 directly on the coils and when clean, wrap something round the coils for protection and use carb cleaner through a fine nozzle to wash off the backing plate.

Do NOT use brake cleaner. It brakes down certain plastics and rubbers.

Whoever said use IPA was right; it's good stuff, but don't smoke when using it.

Carb cleaner is ok too, as it is deliberately formulated so that it doesn't damage seals etc on carbs. Wouldn't be much use otherwise would it?
