Ignition swith wiring

got a very small issue with an Indian GP150........
on the back of the h/light where all the wires join, the GREEN wire from the ign switch is left isolated - chacked when the switch is off and it seems to link with the earth
there is a second GREEN wire that come from the engine also left isolated
bike starts and runs fine but doesn't stop when switched off with the key?? is it simply that the 2x GREENS should be linked
