Just about completed my rebuild and ran it for the first time in the dark to check out the head light. Found that the headlight is very dim at tick over. Once it is revved up a bit the light is good and bright. This is my first Lammy with 12v AC so I am not sure if this is normal.
My set up is;
Rapido 225 classic.
Asso piston.
58mm GP crank.
Ancillotti exhaust.
26mm PWK carb.
AF lightened flywheel w. Indian stator.
Ducati coil.
Swiss regulator
Battery runs all other lights except headlight. (This systems works fine)
Halogen headlight bulb.
Beedspeed loom (Serveta system w. battery and turn indicators)
The motor tick over is rather rough (think Harley) and the headlight intensity is in sync with the rough tick over. (If the motor misses a beat the headlight dims accordingly)
Question is, is the headlight dimming at idle to be expected with this setup?
Maybe a faulty stator can cause a rough tick over and dim light?
Thanks for any input.

Since you are running a battery, you should modificate the stator wiring and go for the wassel conversion. Then run everithing from the battery, even the headlight. Thtat's just what I did on mine, though with a BGM stator.
What kind of halogen bulb do you have? More than 35W is useless with your stator,Since and the halogen conversion bulbs that I had where very poor quality. Now I use this kind of headlight with modern bulbs that works relly well:http://www.jockeys-boxenstop.de/shop/en ... -3838.html

Got a 35W Flosser bulb.
Lightened flywheels make the tickover more uneven too.

Spent some time with the carb adjusting the air screw and raising the idle speed much better now.
Not 100% but much better.
